Costa Crociere S.p.a. contracted ADELTE to design, construct and deliver an additional PBB for its Palacruceros Cruise Terminal in the port of Barcelona. This PEGASUS boarding bridge is primarily designed to service the new generation mega vessels of Carnival Corporation, like the Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic. Key features of this PBB are the telescopic docking ramp and the extra width of the tunnel, allowing simultaneous embarkation and debarkation for cruise guests.
The PEGASUS has the capability to move along the whole quay and is able to connect with various levels of the ship entry doors. The cabin of this PBB is equipped with a uniquely integrated hydraulic, telescopic, docking ramp that, when attached to the side of a cruise ship automatically follows the vessel’s movements and will safely undock in the event of an emergency. The clearance under the PBBs will allow for continuous truck, equipment and supplies traffic on the quayside.
ADELTE has extensive experience in the design, manufacture, installation and
maintenance of PBBs at airport, cruise and ferry terminals around the world
