Installation
Terminal operator Creuers del Port de Barcelona S.A, decided to enhance the passenger boarding facilities for its terminal on the Southern part of the Moll de Barcelona quay, which has a total of 824 metres berthing line and and is part of the World Trade Center, a state-of-the-art business centre located at the Barcelona Pier. Creuers assigned ADELTE to design and install a movable passenger boarding bridge that can service a variety of large cruise vessels without obstructing traffic on the quay.
Single structure movable passenger boarding bridge with a fixed entrance tunnel from the terminal to the rear gantry and a longitudinal tunnel along the seaside, providing a Z-shaped bridge. A telescopic boarding pod covered platform stretches out from the movable front cabin to provide direct access to the cruise vessels entrance. The bridge is equipped with an electromechanical drive system in order to move the construction along the wharf. This system consists of bogies with rubber wheels. its height of 5 metres allows easy passage of vehicles underneath the construction.
