Barcelona, 23th April 2007 – The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and ADELTE Port Services Inc. have signed a contract for the maintenance and operations of the two Passenger Boarding Bridges installed at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in New York.
This Terminal, which was inaugurated on the 15th of April 2006, is equipped with two HYDRA passenger boarding bridges, designed and constructed by ADELTE. The contract includes preventive maintenance services, inspection services, supplies and operational assistance services.
During 2007, the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal will receive more than 50 cruise calls. Cunard’s cruise ships Queen Mary II and Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Cruises’ Crown Princess will frequently be welcoming guests at this terminal. To ensure smooth boarding and disembarkation, ADELTE will be taking responsibility for all passenger boarding bridge operations at the state-of-the art facility in Brooklyn.
ADELTE is the only company in the world that offers a complete package of design, manufacturing, maintenance and operations services for port passenger boarding bridges. In the ports of Barcelona and Valencia, ADELTE already is providing these services for the passenger boarding bridges installed at cruise and ferry terminals. In addition to this, ADELTE also provides preventive maintenance services for the passenger boarding bridge installed at the terminal of Carnival Corporation in Puerto Rico.
The agreement with NYCEDC is the first operations and maintenance services contract that ADELTE has signed in the USA. According to Marcos Gordaliza, Director of Services of ADELTE, ”These service contracts facilitate smooth operations of the boarding bridges as well providing safety and security for passengers and the terminals. In addition, this contract once again demonstrates the confidence our clients have in ADELTE and it drives us to continue improving and extending our portfolio of services, in line with the needs of our clients“.
