Barcelona 7th February 2008 – ADELTE, the world leading designer and manufacturer of sophisticated boarding bridges for cruise and ferry terminals has recently signed a contract with Malaga Cruceros S.A. to deliver this summer a passenger boarding bridge for the cruise terminal ‘Estacion Maritima de Levante’ in the Port of Malaga. The terminal was inaugurated on the 23rd of December 2007.
The company Malaga Cruceros S.A., which manages the new cruise terminal, is a joint venture of the Port of Malaga and the company Creuers of the Port of Barcelona.
The new cruise facility is designed and constructed to receive mega cruise ships and includes various service areas for passengers who either visit Malaga or start their cruise from the port, including customs, handling and tourist information services. Currently the facility can handle up to three cruise ships and between 5,000 and 6,000 passengers per day. This summer ADELTE will install a passenger boarding bridge passenger of the PEGASUS range to serve the newly opened terminal.
This passenger boarding bridge with an electromechanical elevation system will move on rails along the whole quay. The tunnel section is in a dome shape covered with transparent polycarbonate and is equipped with a telescopic element to provide the link with the docking door of the cruise vessel and a ramp to link with the elevated fixed walkway leading to the terminal building.
The installation of this PEGASUS boarding bridge will be ADELTE’s first in at Spanish port. ADELTE has already installed PEGASUS boarding bridges at cruise and ferry terminals in Brisbane (Australia), Nador (Morocco) and Savona (Italy).
