Norwegian Epic arrives in the Port of Miami and ADELTE Passenger Boarding Bridges are inaugurated

Barcelona, 7th July 2010 – ADELTE, the world leading designer and manufacturer of sophisticated Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs) for cruise and ferry terminals ships assisted the Port of Miami today in the inauguration of two PBBs and an elevated walkway especially designed to service the Norwegian Epic at the B & C Cruise Terminals. This is the first time cruise guests of the Norwegian Epic are able to board and disembark through the convenient shell doors on deck 6, located between the overhanging lifeboats of this new generation cruise liner.

Barcelona-based ADELTE won in February 2009 a contract with the Port of Miami to design, manufacture and deliver two PBBs and an elevated walkway for the refurbished B & C cruise terminals in the Port of Miami. These terminals are dedicated to the ships of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and the PBBs needed to be especially designed to service the current fleet but also the Norwegian Epic, the newest mega vessel of NCL which is as of today home-ported in the Port of Miami, the Cruise Capitol of the World.

ADELTE designs for Port of Kiel an innovative Passenger Boarding Bridge

Barcelona 1st March 2010 – ADELTE has recently won a contract with the Port of Kiel (Seehafen Kiel GmbH & Co KG) to design, manufacture and deliver in September 2010 an innovative Passenger Boarding Bridge to service cruise ships and ro-pax ferry vessels of Stena Line at the new passenger terminal Sweden Quay (Schwedenkai).

The Port of Kiel is currently constructing a new passenger terminal at the Sweden Quay which will offer the highest handling quality for passengers and improve traffic movements on the site. From the terminal building a new large and fixed elevated covered walkway will be constructed which leads to the berthing space for cruise ships and Stena’s ferry vessels. At the end of the elevated walkway a new innovative KRONUS Passenger Boarding Bridge will provide the connection to the passenger vessels.

ADELTE selected for the Cruise Center II in Hamburg

Barcelona 22nd December 2009 – ADELTE has recently been awarded a contract by the Fischereihafenent wicklungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (FEG) to design and manufacture a KRONUS Passenger Boarding Bridge for the new terminal building at Cruise Center II in Hamburg, Germany, currently in construction. Delivery of the PBB will take place in the summer of 2010.

Hamburg, the north German harbour city is reclaiming its long overlooked and underused industrial waterfront on the River Elbe with the development of HafenCity, currently the largest urban construction initiative under way in Europe. One part of the development is the construction of a modern passenger terminal building at the Cruise Center II on the Edgar Engelhard Quay in Altona, the historic centre of Hamburg.

ADELTE’s first on Mallorca

Barcelona, 23rd November 2009 – ADELTE has recently been awarded a contract by Ports de Balears (the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands) to design and manufacture two PEGASUS Passenger Boarding Bridges for the recently constructed Ferry Terminal in the Port of Alcudia on the Balearic Island of Mallorca. Delivery of the PBBs will take place in spring 2010.

The port of Alcudia, located on the north coast of the island of Mallorca, receives annually an average of 160.000 passengers. The new Ferry Terminal is designed and constructed with the objective of making Alcudia a key maritime connection between Mallorca, Menorca and Barcelona and possible other Spanish ports. The new passenger facility can handle up to 500.000 passengers a year.

ADELTE wins contract for the Port of San Diego

Barcelona, 24th July 2009 – ADELTE has recently been awarded a contract to design, manufacture and install in the summer of 2010 one mobile Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) of the SEDNA range for the new Cruise Terminal currently in construction on Broadway Pier in San Diego, USA.

Out of fourteen bidding companies, the Port of San Diego awarded the construction contract for the new Cruise Terminal and mobile PBB on Broadway Pier to Jaynes Corporation, a leading constructor in Southern California. For having selected ADELTE over three other PBB providers, Jaynes Corporation secured their winning offer.

Alabama Cruise Terminal to be upgraded with new Passenger Boarding Bridge provided by ADELTE

Barcelona, 19th March 2009 – ADELTE, the world leading designer and manufacturer of sophisticated Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs) for cruise and ferry terminals has recently been awarded a contract by the City of Mobile, Alabama (USA) to design, build and install a HYDRA Passenger Boarding Bridge for its Alabama Cruise Terminal. Agreed delivery of the PBB is in October 2009.

The Alabama Cruise Terminal in Mobile is in operation since 2004 and is currently homeport to the Carnival Holiday, a cruise ship with a capacity to facilitate an average of 1600 passengers on board. To service an increasing amount of cruise guests departing from Mobile, Carnival Cruise Lines will replace the Carnival Holiday in November 2009 for the Carnival Fantasy, a 2052-passenger, 900-foot cruise ship.
